About Sunny Boy

It started with a Sunny Boy.

Before specialty coffee, before roasting, before we knew what a washed Ethiopian or a natural Brazilian was there was the Sunny Boy.

For a lot of us growing up in Australia, Sunny Boys were part of those simple childhood moments. Hot days, the sound of the ice-cream van, mates, footy, school holidays and that feeling that summer could go on forever.

Years later, that name stuck with us.

When we started Sunny Boy Coffee Roasters, we wanted to bring a little bit of that feeling back, but this time, in a coffee cup.

We’re a Melbourne based Australian coffee roaster, passionate about finding great coffees from around the world and roasting them in a way that lets each one show its character. Some are bold and comforting. Some are bright and wild. Some surprise you completely.

But above all, we want coffee to be enjoyable.

No pretentiousness. No unnecessary rules. Just bloody good coffee, roasted with care and a little bit of personality.

Sunny Boy is a reminder that coffee doesn’t always have to be serious. Sometimes it can simply be something you look forward to in the morning.

So whether you’re heading to work, starting a road trip, catching up with mates or just enjoying five quiet minutes to yourself, pour a cup and enjoy the ride.
